Probably all three. The fame and widespread acclaim went to his head and made him think he was invincible or some shit, that he could turn any script into solid gold.
It's a shame, some of his 80's stuff is impossibly good. The first Beverly Hills cop is a legit 10/10 for me.
I loved this movie. But you kids aren't old enough to know that when it came out black people HATED it.
Not even joking. They really hated it. They were very angry about a bunch of stuff in the film.

This movie is great, I love the ending where his wife tells him how Eddie Murphy run from all that just to get a woman that truly loves him, and he tells her they could leave all that behind to live in a humble way and she just answer-nah.
Also the scene where the butler of murphy wasted all his money in good room and apartment and when the king comes to visit he considers all that like living in garbage and makes the butler live in some excellent aparment but he considers it like punishment.
the other movie of murphy with Dan was also amazing.
