>Look I took off my helmet, that means I'm no longer a storm trooper you can trust me.
>I can trust you
>Allow me to escort you to a ship and we'll escape together
>You can escort me to a ship and we'll escape together
>You can trust me
>I can trust you

So like... Poe is either really trusting and dumb as fuck to entrust his life to some guy he just met who has done literally nothing to prove his trustworthiness

Or Finn is a jedi using mindtricks without knowing it
>>
>>64134394
either way, when you think about it for literally one second, FN was his best shot at escape, even if he wasnt really friendly
i dont assume the first order to take prisoners for very long
>>
They had him in custody, there was no reason for them to stage a fake escape attempt.
>>
>>64134394
fuckin blacks, incompetent at being stormtroopers
>>
man that is some intense eye contact
>>
>>64134394
Christ you're literally looking for things to nitpick. It's Saturday night pham. Go hang out with a friend or two or something.
>>
Name one movie /tv/ won't nitpick the fuck out of.
>>
Why else would a Stormtrooper do that? He was going to end up killed or further mind-raped by Ren, and this was his other option.

You guys have nitpicked this movie to death. There's nothing left. Stop with this shit.
>>
>>64135092

You get captured by ISIS youre gonna trust a random dude from ISIS that hes going to lead you to escape? I'd expect he's going to put a bullet in my brain from behind

But then again I'm no elite fighter pilot
>>
Who cares? It's not like he had a choice. The guy probably thought he was a goner, so he was up for even the most retarded idea.
>>
>>64134394

Are you fucking kidding? What other choice did he had? Stay in there to get mind fucked even more? Of all the things you could nitpick you choosed this?
>>
>>64135092
this
why would the FO bother to do some complex trick-escape on him when they already have him and his secrets?
the better question is why they kept him alive, Kylo should have chopped him in half post interview
>>
>>64135162
Except this is more like the nazis than isis.
>>
>>64134394
Or maybe because his only options at the moment was trusting this guy who says he'll save me, or keep getting assfucked by Kylo in a jail cell.
>>
>>64134394
He could tell Finn was a bottom.
>>
>>64134394

He was thinking with his dick.
>>
>>64135187
Bargaining chip. Poe was the Resistance's best pilot. Why not negotiate to get something back for his release?
>>
>>64135162
>You get captured by ISIS youre gonna trust a random dude from ISIS that hes going to lead you to escape?

Yeah. I'm dead if I stay anyway
>>
>>64135129
This.
>>
>>64135232
>>64135233
Took you long enough.
>>
>>64134394
>So like... Poe is either really trusting and dumb as fuck to entrust his life to some guy he just met who has done literally nothing to prove his trustworthiness
I mean why not

Either he trusts Finn and at the very worst gets tricked and killed by him, or he does nothing and gets tortured to death by the Empire
>>
>>64135162
>captured by militants who have been known to behead, crucify, or stone captives
>opportunity for a quick, painless death when you're not even expecting it

it's the same scenario. Poe already knew he was a dead man, there was literally zero risk in following Finn.

Neither Poe or Finn had a choice, they were both in danger of being fucked by Kylo.

What was his other options? He is just a pilot.
>>
>>64134394
Mclovin already read his mind to get all the information he needed from him. FN had nothing to gain by tricking him, and he shot up the ship while they were escaping.
>>
kylo ren"I am your grandson"
>>
>>64134394

He wanted that BBC in his thick latin boipucci
>>
>>64134394

He didn't have any alternative other than being tortured to death. He was desperate for a way out, and when Finn offered him one, he ran with it.
>>
>>64135092

>stage escape by "traitor" storm trooper
>traitor agrees to help Resistance
>Poe goes to find BB-8 and get the map
>pick up BB-8, get ship to go to Resistance base
>Finn waits until the ship is in hyperspace en route to the base
>kills Poe
>First Order tracks Finn's location
>First Order now has BB-8, the map to Luke Skywalker, and knows where the Resistance base is

Honestly, they should have actually tried this.
>>
>>64135610

NAH SENPAI HE HAD NO CHANCE TO THINK HE SHOULD JUST HOPE THE STORM TROOPER ISNT A SPY YO

YO WHY YOU ASKING QUESTIONS?

WHY YOU CANT TURN YOUR BRAIN OFF?
>>
>>64134394
worse. he trusted a nigger. around blacks, never relax.
>>
>>64135610
Finn did nothing that was suspicious though. He was scared and didn't even give a shit about the map.
>>
Why wouldn't he trust him? If the First Order really wanted him dead, they'd do it properly instead of sending in a single guy who look pretty nervous and is removing his uniform. Secondly, the removal of the helmet does show that he's not a proper stormtrooper who is completely loyal to his commanders.
>>
>>64135773

That's exactly how you would have someone act in that situation if you wanted the trick to be successful.

I'm not saying Poe acted irrationally. I'm just saying there are definitely conceivable ways that trusting Finn could backfire.
>>
Even if it was a trick he'd have a greater chance of escaping or being rescued on the planet. Or even having a run-in with some random criminal that kills Finn.
>>
>>64135853

See: >>64135610

It could have been an act, and it could have been devastating.
>>
So Finn's just a spy right
>>
>>64135964
But Finn didn't care about the Resistance or the map. Pretty terrible spy if he's just going to get off at the next planet. If Finn was asking about either it would have made sense for Poe to suspect something, but he didn't.
>>
>>64134394
They are gay lovers. Accept it STar Wars is for women and gays now.
>>
>>64136112
>Terrible spy
But you don't know what his objectives are. Maybe it's to stay deep embedded for years to come. Maybe he has to kill Luke. Maybe he has to try and lead internal disputes. You just don't know.
>>
>>64136112

But if the First Order really wanted to pull that deception that's exactly what they'd do. Make Finn not mention the Resistance or the map, expect Poe to go straight for the droid, and just have Finn wait for the right time to backstab Poe.
>>
>>64134394
Finn is being controlled by Snoke

It's why Kylo was so focused on him as the plan was being set in motion

>he's force sensitive

Finn seemed like he really wanted to get out of there, Poe did indeed found it suspicious why a stormtrooper would help him escape just because 'it was the right thing to do' he quickly caught up with Finn's facade and realize that he cant escape without a pilot, kind of a give and take which is a whole lot better than being mindrape especially after giving up the intel that the map leads to Luke, eventually he would have given up the location of every rebel base
>>
>>64135057
Of course everyone ignores the post that makes sense in favor for more star wars shit posting
>>
>>64136190
>>64136197
Only if he wanted to join the Resistance and even then it's a long term problem when Poe is looking at a short term one.

Poe never has a chance to be suspicious because their fighter gets blown up long before they even find the droid.
>>
>>64136112
"hey now that i have rescued you how about you tell me all about the top secret mission that you risked your life for??"
>>
They would have kill poe cameron anyway after they get the info what does he have to lose
>>
>>64136323
Did they talk about it in the fighter?

Either way, the FO already knew exactly what Poe was there for and who the Resistance was looking for. Not really a secret
>>
>>64136320

In a world where Finn is a spy, the First Order would have made sure they didn't get shot down. Obviously by the time Finn is destroying the hangar Poe can be 100% certain he's not a spy, but if he was a spy they would have "narrowly" escaped and the FO wouldn't have shot them down.
>>
>>64136402
And if he was a spy, Poe would still take a chance against one guy rather than an entire star destroyer.
>>
>>64135057
>>64135153
>>64135164
>>64135181

Have none of you ever read anything about prisoners of war? You infants. There's more than just kissing captures. You can gain intel, you can turn them, you can do prisoner swaps, you can sell them for information.

If they were going to kill him they would have already killed him

>FACT.

This guy gets it >>64135236
>>
>>64136483
Even if that's the case, he would still do his best to escape.
>>
>>64136402
The First Order wouldnt tell every fighter there's a spy out there and to avoid killing them. It's not how warfare works.

You send a bunch of spies out and if they die then so be it. You can't have the entire army knowing who is a spy incase they're a spy or they get captured or blackmailed and release information.
>>
>>64136562
Hux ordered him to be shot down though
>>
>>64136465

Like I said, Poe wasn't being irrational, but people who say there was zero potential for it backfiring on Poe are not thinking of all the possibilities.
>>
>>64136483
>>64136561
Not only would it at least be a way out and he could deal with Finn later, once they're in the TIE Finn kills more than a few stormtroopers.
Then Finn and Poe get separated anyway so it's not like you know Poe was taking Finny to the base and not parting ways on Jakku or off world somewhere else.
>>
>>64136650
>>64136650

Ok... but you're acting like Poe knew that, or that Finn was a spy.

The real problem is Poe didn't know whether he was a spy or not, he just went with it and started asking him what his name was and getting all jovial with nothing to base this friendship on but a guy without a helmet.
>>
>>64134394
>dedicated Resistance pilot and (presumably) combat veteran
>captured
>tortured repeatedly
>sweaty defector who knows his way out offers to help
It literally makes perfect sense ok?
>>
>>64136699
That's just Poe's personality. He's charismatic
>>
>>64134394
Poe saw that finn was a retard and just wanted to get off the ship, so he knew they had the same goal.
