Eh, I marathoned that film in two sittings, it wasn't very good.

As video game adaptations go, this was really good. Shame about the sequel. It's definitely in my top 3 video game adaptations, with Mortal Kombat and Dead or Alive.

That is the most re-watchable movie I know of.

>Shame about the sequel.
I remember being disappointed 3 minutes in, while sitting in a nearly empty theater.
I've never been more let down.

I watched this a year ago and I loved it. I have no idea why I never saw it as a kid, but I'm glad I saw it when I was older so I could appreciate more.

Is that that move where the hallways turn into a face? Shit scared the shit out of me when I was younger.

Through the music, camera angles and set design they managed to make most of it EXACTLY like the games. Probably the best video game adaption. Extra props for it being a game with such a strangely specific atmosphere

The sequel was impressively bad. It was made from (arguably) the best game, too. Life is suffering

It's not the hallways, just a wall, but yes, i discovered this in theaters once as a teen and this movie is my favorite haunted house movie. Been rewatching it i don't know how many times through the years.

It just didn't make any sense. One of the reasons the first one had such a good atmosphere was because they actually used the music from the games, and it made some of the scenes. They didn't over use Pyramid Head, and the story was serviceable.

Well, Dead or Alive is there because its faithful to the videogames. In the sense its mostly about hot chicks fighting, over the top action and eye candy.
Mortal Kombat, the first one it was really good in my opinion. They didn't need to change much with the story and it worked. Maybe because I watched it when I was a kid but its really good.
Its not saying much though, they're not good when compare to other movies as a whole but when you compare them to other videogame movies the curve drops a bunch.
Anywho, on thread. I really love Moon, mainly because I'm a sucker for anything with Sam Rockwell and I really loved the atmosphere and how everything looked.

Garbage. Farr too computery and the monsters had no impact. None of the subtlty of the SH games was here.
Anyone who liked this garbage needs t just watch Jacob's Ladder instead.

Blade Runner
Se7en
godtier atmosphere so thick you need to remove it with your hand as the movie unfolds
>>64126173
>None of the subtlty of the SH games was here
For a film, it was very welled paced. Slow build up.
How could you make it any more subtle, and still be a good film?
Unless you're talking about SH: Revelation, in which there was no pacing, and it was more of an action movie.
I don't see this movie talked about a lot here
>>64126173
>and the monsters had no impact
The monsters were unnerving as shit.
>>64126422
>that intro
>that transition scene at the club
>that mindfuck trying to piece shit together
>>64126173
>None of the subtlty of the SH games was here
Well they kinda had to add pyramid head because he's the mascot of the franchise. And since pyramid head is symbolic of the emotions of the guy from the SECOND game, and the movie follows the FIRST game, they couldn't really go with the whole subtle symbolism thing
>monsters had no impact
This is just bullshit, the nurse scene was tense as fuck
