Not only that but he's impatient and makes his editors work harder than he ever has to save his movies with very limited takes because he's a busy man and needs to do the next citizen kane, no time to waste we can just make it work in editing

This would probably work for Nolan. He is one of those directors who have almost no understanding of emotional nuance. He tries desperately to over compensate with heavily slapped on sentimentality to make his work seem *somewhat* emotionally nuanced, but the pathos in his work is about as complex as watching shadow puppets by candlelight.
He could pull this sort of shit off in a large scale war setting very easily.
