>People defending prequels on /tv/
This is just an ironic meme, right? No one over the age of 12 could actually believe this, right?
Most people over 12 dont defend any of the seven Star Wars movies
The prequels were much better written, they had actual characters and story, not a bunch of memes and one-liners that lack any emotion or coherence. Luke is a cliched everyboy "hero" that goes through an absurdly rapid transformation between the fifth and the sixth episodes. Anakin's emotional instability and his exposure as a psychopath are gripping; and his doomed relationship with Padme is touching. In the "original trilogy" Han, Leia, Darth Vader and Obi Wan are complete meme characters, nothing about them is remotely believable or human. And why doesn't anyone care about deaths in those movies? Leia's planet destruction, Luke's stepparents' death, all of the blown up rebels--the list could go on--all the deaths are forgotten moments later.
As for direction, the movies from the "original trilogy" were mostly incoherent, badly edited and full of logical problems. The prequel trilogy is a work of a "vulgar auteur".
If you can't see that then film isn't for you and maybe even this board.
I realize now having bad movies like the prequels that took chances is better than a product like the force awakens that was influenced too much by the public's opinions and desires

ur just regurgitating Plinkett. Kek, grow a brain for once, moron!!!!!
Yes it's an ironic meme. Nobody actually believes it. They're being intentionally contrarian just to get under the skin of others.
>>64122834
3/10 bait too obvious
u George haters are just repeating the plinkett reviews cuz you can't form an original thought on your own!!
At least the prequels didn't have a woman and nigger protagonist and a third death star
>>64122965
>Leia and Lando
>Padame and Mace Windu
Only keeping with tradition.
>ITT: PLINKETTDRONES GETTING BTFO
kek!
>>64122763
>he doesn't understand avant-garde memes
>>64123021
Those are all literally side characters
>>64123127
Protagonist means good guys, they don't have to be the main character chucklefuck. In fact media exists with more than one main character.
>>64123178
>The protagonist (from Ancient Greek πρωταγωνιστής (protagonistes), meaning "player of the first part, chief actor") or main character is a narrative's central or primary personal figure, who comes into conflict with an opposing major character or force (called the antagonist).
>>64123208
Keep reading
>The terms protagonist and main character are variously explained and depending on the source, may denote different concepts.[citation needed] In fiction, the story of the protagonist can be told from the perspective of a different character (who may also but not necessarily, be the narrator). An example would be a narrator who relates the fate of several protagonists - perhaps as prominent figures recalled in a biographical perspective.
>>64123208
>the main figure or one of the most prominent figures in a real situation
>or one of the major characters in a drama, movie
You can stop posting at any time.
>>64123259
...and? They are side characters, not protagonists
>>64123287
>any of those
>major
>>64122834
bait but there are stuff I agree with. Mostly Luke's fast change from V to VI.
>>64123346
>>64123374
Epic.
>>64123346
And you've just came full circle with your argument. Let's see more mental gymnastics.
Prequels are pretty decent, especially episode 3. 2 is a bit weak and too much lovey dovey

>stop having opinions!
>it's just a troll!
your father must be proud their wife's son
Let's be honest, The Phantom Menace is ten times better than TFA, prequels are massively underrated because of quirky redditors "le prequels are bad mmmkay epic maymay", Lucas is a fantastic director and a real human being, try to watch Red Tails if you want to see a good war movie. Hating on Lucas or prequels is literally reddit-tier

Yes. Don't fall for it.
If you think TFA is worse than ANY of the PT, you're either
>retarded
>a troll
can we stop having these threads now?
>>64122763
No contrarianism, I've always loved the prequels, I just didn't say anything until the time was right.
We're rising now, brother.
>>64124481
ROTS is a genuinely funny and well made movie and way better than New Hope 2.0
>>64124529
>genuinely funny
perhaps unintentionally
>>64122795
This. They're fun movies, but from an objective, cinematographic point of view, the prequels are absolute shit and the OT are just decent movies, without anything but visual effects to make them special.
>>64124579
I forgot, the music and the way it is used throughout the OT is damn good.
>>64123985
I'll give credit to your persistence in shitposting, it's the only thing you have going for you.
>*Nods begrudgingly*
>>64122763
It's hilarious
>critics like it
>general audience like it
>RLM like it
>/tv/, in an attempt to be the ultimate anti-mainstreamemers, is now gritting their teeth to say the prequels were good all along
Once the reddit contrarians start doing that too, the tables will turn, which will then turn again when reddit switches sides. It will go on for all eternity.
>>64124566
Sure, but the fact that it was meant to be serious just makes it even funnier
>>64122895
Nice to see a fellow redditor on /tv/, my friend! Take this upvote... you earned it, good sir!
>>64122763
whoever started the "prequels are good" meme knew that /tv/ willingly mutates to have the ultimate contrarian opinion, and also knew that they try to have the exact opposite of reddit's opinion whenever possible. but it's now getting to the point where people actually believe the meme, including the redditors who regurgitate memes to try and fit into a place they don't belong to
if the prequels were actually the hidden gems that this new meme is making them out to be, the public opinion on them would have reversed in the decade that they've been out. but it hasn't, because they're shit, and no /tv/ shitpost will ever change that
