Yeah, which is why his character was great. He wasn't written as jive talking negro gangsta in space, he was just an immature and panicky failed stormtrooper. It was great. Rey's a bit too perfect and maybe you have some empathy for her shitty dessert life but Finn is the 'normal' person for the audience to relate to.

I actually think Boyega was really fucking good in TFA. He was genuinely funny and likable.
But then, I thought Darth Angst was cool, too. Very menacing for the first half of the film, but the reveal that he's just an angry teenager was handled really well. He acted the shit out of the scene with Han, too.
