remember, yoda repudiates the notion that the dark side is stronger, but he also says that war does not make one great. the true power of the light side doesn't really shine through in physical conflict.

Going just by what Luke knows from the OT, he would have no reason to enforce celibacy on himself or anyone else. Hell, he's already an unorthodox Jedi for harnessing his negative emotions to fight but knowing where to draw the line and stop, rather than suppressing all his anger/fear/hate fully like Yoda and Obi-Wan tell him to. Luke is a progressive Jedi in a lot of ways, so why bother with celibacy? Not to sound like a twat but simple minds crave rules and structure. You can't just have the force as a mysterious energy source that you can tap into and use however you see fit, nope. Instead there are sith and jedi specific powers and you gain new ones as you level up. Oh and there aren't any new powers, just recycled ones that other sith or jedi have already done.
If there weren't hard rules on what sith can do and what jedi can do it would be confusing and we wouldn't be able to relate to the good guys since blue after-effects lightning is scary.

this is how I've come to interpret it. that it's a sort of Yin/Yang thing, where the dark side of the force is fast, aggressive, chaotic, and turbulent, but grants power much faster and is therefore very tempting.
The value of the light side should then be the structure, order, and stoicism that following its doctrines would result in a jedi. They control and order their emotions, even in the furor of combat. To compare, the dark side would let themselves get angry as possible during combat and try and harness that to their advantage, making them more fierce than the light side would typically be.
But adhering so deeply to the structure and order of the light side might also backfire.
