A gym membership will cost you £30 a month or less, and you'll actually get out of your bedroom, get access to proper equipment, and you can even go with your buddies to make it fun/competitive.
If you don't have anyone to go with then obviously that's not as fun (I did it for a while this year) but it's still INFINITELY better than trying to work out in your room. And besides what the fuck are you hoping to achieve just with a set of dumbbells? All you can do with them really is chest exercises and arm exercises, and you can forget the chest stuff unless you have a bench. So basically all you can do is biceps and triceps. That's it.
Go to a gym and you will have the equipment to work on all the areas of your body - chest, legs, core, arms, back. Whatever muscle group you want to work on, there is equipment for it. You will form workouts that develop the muscles, and the strength, of your entire body, not just your arms, which as I said is basically the only thing you can train with a pair of dumbbells in your room.
Seriously. I tried lifting dumbbells in my room as a teenager, but it is literally no substitute for a gym. If you don't know what to do in a gym, go on YouTube and watch videos. That's what I did. Search for like "chest workout" or "back workout" or "shoulder workout", and see what exercises they do, and how they do them. In my experience, good channels are Six Pack Shortcuts (preferably the ones with Mike Chang because I think he's good), The Hodge Twins, Elliott Hulse (ignore his videos with RSD, and just watch his bodybuilding videos), and Scott Herman fitness. None of them have the "gospel" on fitness, but they will all teach you stuff you don't know. Use your own judgement, and with experience, it will soon become second nature what is proper form and what isn't.
Ok I've gone on there a bit. Anyway. Hope that helps bro. Get a gym membership because a set of dumbbells is really not going to do anything for you.
