One thing you can really appreciate the prequels is the scope of the star wars universe they include. There are tons of locations all around the galaxy.
Meanwhile star wars 7 takes place on some tattooine ripoff for a bit, in a bar, and then on a hoth ripoff.

They were confused and poorly directed, but atleast THERE WAS PASSION! PURE UNRELENTING AUTISTIC DEDICATION to get all the irrelevant details JUST RIGHT, and missing the mark on making a normal 3 act film. tfa has no passion. Its a cash grab. But it succeeds at filling in the 3 act story arch properly.
