I've seen more WHYS in this film than those episodes all together:
Empire morphing into another thing makes total sense, the name not so much (First Order why?), but what makes absolutely no sense is the Resistance to exist. A Resistance to what? Isn't there a New Republic? Doesn't this New Republic have an army? They just let the First Order be? What the fuck?
J.J. must have thought that Resistance was way more cool and original (sure).
Why does Rey like Finn so much? He looks like a fucking manchildren (at least on the first half of the film).
Why does this Maz Kanata know so many things? Why does she have Luke's lightsaber? Why does she run a pub in the middle of fucking nowhere in a bunch of ruins covered with banners with edgy symbols? Do people really travel here to get some drinks and listen to space reggae? Doesn't she know her place is filled with both First Order and Resistance informers?
Why can Kylo Ren stop things in time? Why does J.J. want to make a joke out of him? How can this fucking scary stormtrooper become kind of a problem for him in a lightsaber battler? It's just like if Obi-Wan couldn't handle a fucking standard confederacy droid.
And I truly mean J.J. doesn't build any fucking respect around Kylo Ren.
First scenes and this Poe Dameron laughs at him. Nobody ever laughed at Vader, not even Solo. Then he gets child anger attacks with control panels. Then he cries at grandpa's helmet and asks him to make him stronk. Then he almost gets beat by a nigger stormtrooper. Then he gets beat by Rey...
I enjoyed the film, because it's fucking Star Wars. But a lot of things in the film made no sense.
Like including Phasma for nothing. I hope she doesn't come back in next films and she actually got paper thin in the trash compactor.
