It's funny how one of the biggest complains before release was the inclusion of Boyega. Now that the movie is out, he was actually pretty good and served more as comic relief without being overly goofy. Kylo was the character they kind of fucked up though and they did make Rey too powerful.

Kylo Ren is about where Luke was at the end of Empire - he had some training, has a ton of potential, but he still lacks some self-confidence and self-control, and he just got defeated and had his hand cut off by a character with immense power(Vader=Darth Mareysue). They should have made it so that Rey lost the fight and tried to crawl away with injured Kylo slowly walking towards her when suddenly the earth cracks and they get quickly separated. With a pissed off face Kylo watches Rey slowly getting up and disappearing behind the trees. This way she still gets away from him without fans getting annoyed.

While I think that TFA wasn't that bad, and completely agree with the rest of your points, that's just not true.
The first 30-45 minutes of the movie were great and had a simple, elegant story that allowed for a lot of characterization, the remaining 1,5 hour was messy with too much shit crammed in it, people meeting each other through convoluted coincidences and constant jumping between various storylines with wildly different tones.

I actually liked the fact that the actor wasn't conventionally good looking. He was not what we expected and I find his average looks help the character to feel more real. He's not perfect neither in looks nor in personality. There's no reason for him to be a very good-looking man, he's not playing a model. Also I find that he look a little bit like Leia and Han Solo.

I do agree with most of those, but I wish they would have gone more into detail about who the first order are and what their motivations are. Are they just empire sympathizers or something? I haven't seen the prequels in a long time so maybe I'm missing something about what their origin might be but it seemed like there was just a need for a generic "bad guy" for the protagonists to fight against.
