Star Wars has a long history of villains dying like chumps shortly after being introduced. Boba Fett, Grievous, Tarkin, Maul, Dooku... even Palpatine in RotJ died an embarrassing death in his only big scene

Imo his justification for doing what he did made the most sense of ANY star wars character. Imagine you just freed your people from enslavement from invading assholes and then the space UN decided that since the slavers were a part of Space UN then they need to send in the Jedi to slap you back to your place. Tell me any one of you wouldnt do ANYTHING to murder as many Jedi as you could find. Politics, innocent lives... Not one of you would give the slightest of fucks.

Yeah, Grievous' backstory was pretty cool. He was a tragic character living a shell of a life and still stuck around just to kill Jedi. Hell, he lost his fucking soulmate and his entire troop of friends and family and barely survived himself and believed it was the Republic that did it.
Too bad it's not canon anymore. I'm sure Disney will fuck it up somehow, or forget about Grievous and the prequels entirely.

He was pretty based in that clone wars cartoon though you have to admit that at least.
He shit on like 4 jedi two of them I believe were on the council and he was making it look easy. I just think that they made him TOO powerful so they had to nerf him so much for the movies so he isn't just shitting on people left and right in RotS since it wasn't about him it was about Palps/Vader.
I mean it wouldn't make sense to send Vader to kill the separatists when you have Grevious still a badass.
I still think the greatest part in the cartoon was when Grevious point blank told Dooku droids were fucking worthless.

Grievous is by far the best part of the prequels/ cartoons, especially after some time as the shitness and overall un-starwarseness fully set in.
I hadn't watched the clone wars before RoTs and he was the main reason I bothered to watch it. I didn't really like it but, Grievous was awesome.
I wish they woulda cut the "always(ony?) two there are.." and had him in all the prequels and built up a back story and an evolution of his form.
Like in TPM he coulda just been a week banker alien and got smashed some comic way and vows reveng, then in ATOTC he's shows up with robot muscles and lightsaber skills, then we get the final badass version. They coulda had him show up more then once with different accessories/limbs for different situations. Woulda made for awesome toys.
The down side is that his agile bad ass body makes us wonder why Vader ends up so clunky. We could have assumed Vader is just steady and deliberate samurai style, BUT NO we see Anakin loves to flip and jump all over the place.
Thats a non canon character. The prequels are effective non canon.

Why the fuck start at Phantom Menace, when a Clone Wars movie would have been inferentially preferable, fleshing out the war and character motivations?
This is why people generally dislike the prequels. Not Jar Jar, but the overall execution within all that world building.
