There aren't even that many Star Wars threads. The campaign is over and we are in the aftermath period where things are settling down and there is no more brute force marketing to deal with. There's just the simpleminded cud-chewing meme-regurgitating copycats to deal with in this aftermath phase.

The ST Extended Universe fixed the Data Nemesis double bullshit by having Geordi find a complete copy of Data's backup memories and installing them into Data's newly discovered double, effectively raising Data from the dead, with the added bonus that he doesn't remember the pile of shit that was Nemesis.

No, because Paramount/CBS said so. They've been clear that any future TV shows will be based on the old continuity so splintered timeline shit. It's one of the main reasons JJ bounced to Star Wars as CBS/Paramount quickly realized the downside of doing a full-stop reboot and squashed JJ's demand that further EU material be limited to the reboot movie-verse.

Data is only really good when he is doing funny robot things. I understand that he's a robot but he keeps trying to learn how to be human and nothing really comes out of it. Data's day is funny but also pretty depressing in a way when you realize that Data really is just a soulless machine who has gotten very good at emulating responses without truly understanding them.
