Word on the street is that Christoph Waltz turned down Hateful Eight because he felt the role was too small and a caricature, and that the story covered the same ground as Django. Tarantino got infuriated and cast Tim Roth.

>When you want Christoph Waltz but can't afford him
>>
if true then waltz is a shitty human being
>>
>>64064470

he is but hes also not wrong here
>>
h8ful looks like django 2. Isn't this what tarantino was afraid of in the first place and why he threatened to retire?

i mean if not for tarantino waltz would still be doing commercials for german scat porn and this thread wouldnt exist.
>>
Waltz was too busying appearing in cell phone game commercials and the worst Bond movie in a decade
>>
>>64064580

So Waltz made the right choice then
>>
I'm surprised anyone would agree to do Hateful Eight, except SLJ who basically says yes to anything Tarantino shits out.
>>
>>64064580
>implying it's worse than Solace
>>
>insinuates that a previous film has covered the same ground as prospective film

So he allows himself to be cast in Spectre?
>>
>>64064624
If the prequels can't kill the meme negro hombre nada can.
>>
>>64064208
here's the truth: waltz wanted to do it but there were time constraits or something
tim roth's character was written specifically for him if i recall
>>
>>64064470
it's not true op just made it up lol
>>
>>64064470
It's that extra layer insult to get jewed by a Kraut.
>>

Where did you pull this from?

Tim Roth was one of the first people to get the script (The other was Madsen) and the character was clearly written with him in mind.

Everyone in the script was blatantly written for a specific actor, and there was no role written for Waltz at all.

The only major casting change was Damien Bachir who plays Senor Bob (Monsieur Bob in the script, to be played by the French farmer from Basterds)

Movie still sucked though.

Truthfully, the movie is pretty much garbage. I kept waiting for it to get good...but it just kept sucking ass. The whole racist edge was so long-winded and got old after about 5 seconds. No idea why they sent out screeners for it. It won't win shit.

Quentin gtfo feet are that way

He says yes to everything. Gotta keep his world record up
>>
Tim Roth was horribly miscasted. Why the fuck did they even need another german guy in the movie? Like he couldn't re-write the character? Felt so bad for Roth.
>>
>Waltz didn't want to play himself in a quentin joint for the 3rd time

Literally nothing wrong with that
>>
>>64064208
>because he felt the role was too small and a caricature

Of course Waltz didn't get it, it's a black male thing.

True they could of just changed his accent back to British, I mean Roth has always been Tarantino's security blanket. Haven't seen the movie but Roth normally does a really good job, in these dialogue heavy things.
>>
>>64064470
That's business. Why do somethig for a small role and do the same shit again. He did that with Basterds to Django.
>>
>>64064208
What is this sourceless bullshit, OP?
>>
Waltz was 100% correct then.

Also

>Wasting Michael Madsen
>>
I'm not even saying this to meme on people: But the only people I've seen who liked The Hateful Eight are Redditors, edgy Fedoras and 17 year old QT fanboys.

I don't know how anyone can say this film at good dialogue, the pacing was so awful, I can't comment on the cinematography because potato DVDSCR but it was just very long and pretentious.

I think it's also annoying because it's sort of framed as a cowboy movie but the characters are even a step lower than pastiche.

Also it's almost 3 fucking hours, holy fuck.
>>
Good for him, a lot of actors would have stayed on the leash
>>
>>64065382
I want to see Eight with Monseiur LaPadite
>>
Tarantino wasn't in this movie, was he? Do we know the budget of this thing?
>>
>>64064208

yep first thing went on my mind was Waltz would have been perfect for the role
>>
>>64064573
youre illiterate
>>
>>64064470
How does refusing a stupid bit roll in a movie where the character is similar to one you've already played make you a shitty person?

Sounds to me like only a struggling actor would take a role like that.
>>
>>64068015
He narrated it.

I enjoyed the movie but the inclusion of narration was odd.
Theres like two scenes with it.
>>
Waltz was supposed to be the Kurt Russell character, which was hard to believe. Tim Roth was totally doing his best to channel Waltz in his performance of Oswaldo.
>>
>>64067903
The dialogue is pretty standard QT with all that implies, but I thought the script was one of his best. It isn't super quotable or anything (especially if you are white) but there are a lot of callbacks in terms of dialogue (including a super random Basterds callback that sort of works)

I totally see Tim Roth's part being written for Waltz but he does a very good job of making the character his own and he is able to hit those rhythms like Waltz does

I really liked it everyone does a good job especially Jennifer Jason Leigh holy shit she's like a fucking demon in this she knocks it out of the park.
>>
>>64064568
Looks like meat's back on the menu, boys.
>>
When's the first yify hd 720 torrent gonna be available?
>>
I get why he turned down the role, he didn't want to keep playing the same character for the rest of his acting career. Waltz isn't that young anymore and he probably wants to do other things.
And lo and behold, Tim Roth played Cristoph Waltz in the h8ful 8 m8. He did a pretty good job, too.

Pham, there's been a screener torrent out for like a week tbqh

I just feel bad for ol' Timmy. He hasn't done shit for Quinty since Pulp Fiction.

He was fun in Four Rooms, though.
