I'm hoping Lin goes fucking overboard and turns this movie into a fucking action filled shit fest.
I want Spock dual wielding phasers larger than himself blasting away armies of Klingons while Kirk uses a motorcycle to jump over a warbird and throw a smoke bomb into its chimney and blow it up and maybe Scotty steals some enterprise ships and races them so they can win an illegal tournament and receive a macguffin from some bad guy.
I mean,if you're gonna fuck it up, might as well go all the way.
These movies seem so well cast yet none of the characters are actually characters. They're just old Star Trek copies turned up to ten.

for me, the issue is that a Star Trek movie should capture the tone and style of Star Trek rather than making into action romance movie #1542. It's very hard for a franchise to obtain it's own unique voice in an over saturated environment, Star Trek has that but it's not being used.
