I went to a very nice theater in Prague last time I was there last. Decent beer at concessions, no filth on the floors. Nice, steeper stadium seating, and I got the feeling that if anyone made any unnecessary noise during the film they'd be ejected.

American theaters are a melting pot. Unlike other places of mostly like minded people, you get a mix of ideas about what is "appropriate etiquette" in America. Some people have the good sense to stay quiet, others think the theater is a daycare, and others think talking on their phones/talking with others/hooting and hollering like baboons is okay.
There is no better representation of failed cultural integration than the American theater.
