VII occurs 30-40 years after IV. If Obi is able to break his chaste characterization 10 or 20 years before IV, Rey could be his granddaughter.
The only real problem outside of the character flaws is that Vader would've overlooked or ignored an entire generation of potentially powerful Jedi for decades.
