Just got back and the whole movie feels like the start of a movie. I know you could argue that this is part 1 of 3 and could be considered an intro but that's horseshit. I thought the jokes for the most part were well done but comedic relief is peppered through the entire thing.
The bad guy is basically JP from Grandma's Boy and with all the modern technology available today it's sad they couldn't make him sound more intimidating with his mask on. Immortan Joe is an antagonist done right, even if you don't like the movie or feel or was too eccentric I hope you can at least it give it that much credit.
The scene with the girl and Rylo would've been better if she didn't become master swordsman out of the blue. Seeing her use the environment to get away from him would've been more compelling.

Vader was cremated by Luke and friends at the end of Jedi, remember? Luke probably told his disciples, which involved Kylo, about his father, and how he was incredibly strong but turned good blah blah. After Kylo had an interest in his grandfather he probably asked Luke what happened to him in the end or what he did with the body. "Oh we burned him and gave him a funeral on Endor in the forest".

Also what the fuck was up with taking so much time to have her walk up there? Suspense, yeah, but when the focus is on the scenery and the suspense is about the person it confuses the tone. They should have made it more obviously a jedi temple to get some world building and keep the importance of the meeting in the mind of the viewer. As it stands it just seems like "Well we flew all the way out here for this one scene might as well get our money's worth."

They finally found a map to Luke, but they only sent this random girl they only just met, Han's other half, and R2D2 randomly wakes up and comes along, though neither bother to leave the ship. She climbs all the way up there and just holds out his lightsaber. Why? Was he looking for it? Did he go into hiding because he didn't have a saber and would only use that one? Essentially he's chilling on his island and this girl he's never met shows up and silently holds a lightsaber at him. Was he the one who created the map and intentionally broke it into a puzzle, leaving it with the message that if they find his old lightsaber and bring it back to him, they get a wish?
