I have a feeling that "the awakening of the Force" is a much more broad thing. It's about Rey, but also about Kylo and about Luke and Leia too and perhaps something else on the dark side.
Perhaps the Force is somehow distributed and so it is more intense with the presence of just a few users. I had a feeling that Kylo and Rey have a stronger Force use than Luke, Obi Wan and Anakin. We have never seen a laser stopped in mid air, or such mind reading and bending abilities like Kylo used. That would also explain how Rey learned it so fast.

I also think Finn can use the Force and perhaps that is directly related to his betrayal of the stormtroopers, like some "unbearable good" that made him go against all odds and rebel. There is no reasonable explanation for a person who is trained from birth to know any better, but the Force is not reasonable, he just felt it wrong.
I also think that holds parallel to what happened to Kylo Ren rebelling against everything and turning evil.
