I respect that he has a vision that he tries to uphold, but his vision is shit. And ultimately when choosing between what has more original artistic vision behind it but is entirely terribleand what is objectivelly better, albeit with little original thought behind it i think i know what i'd pick.
I mean when you look at Star Wars, the only thing that he is entirely responsible for are the prequels. And i dont think anyone is going to tell you they prefer phantom menace to empire strikes back just because Lucas put more of his vision into it.
