Also when I was a kid I always figured the "clone wars" referred to a war against a foreign army of clones - not necessarily rebels vs empire with one of them controlling a bunch of clones. Like if they're that well known, they had to have some galaxy-wide effect, so it makes sense.
But the idea of every stormtrooper being a clone of Jango Fett is pretty retarded. Not only does it unnecessarily elevate Boba Fett and make him more important than he should be, it lessens his impact in the OT by turning him into a clone of some asshole.
The george lucas cameo in A New Hope is by far the worst.

Its true that there's still a ton of practical effects and costumes in the prequels, but I always think back to this fact whenever I'm about to start defending the prequels. I remember hearing that they did mo-cap of ex-soldiers for the clones so they looked cooler compared to the originals where the stormtroopers were pretty much camera men in the armor. They digitally recomposited many effects in 2K in the nineties (rather than 4K or 8K) and created a new master from that digital transfer, then in the early 2000s Lowry did a sub-par transfer that is heavily outdated by today's standards, and was DNR'd to hell, and it has so little grain left they REINTRODUCED grain back. And then the atrocious colors and artifacts introduced.
Thanks god some dedicated fans have been providing alternative versions for years, like reconsctructions, homemade film transfers and stuff, but as long as we're stuck with the BD (which are based on the 2004 master) we're fucked.

I finally saw this scene in action for the first time recently and I was horrified. Hayden's Anakin looks so fucking sinister, it makes no sense. That's on top of it not making any sense to begin with. They couldn't even be assed to properly make him and Obi-Wan share a friendly smile with one another like in the original. When Obi-Wan looks over to Anakin, he's looking down at his fucking feet or something.
