So after having watched it I guess it's tarantino returning to his reservoir dogs and pulp fiction self?
Pre-kill bill style.
I really liked it, especially the second half. Felt like a proper tarantino movie after all those years.
Probably my third favourite tarantino movie.

Why should we believe the rape scene was anything other than a just another fake story? Didn't Jackson make it all up because he was deliberately triggering the General to provoke him to reach for the gun, thereby giving Jackson an opportunity to kill General in self-defense?

Jackson tells Kurt Russel that he lied about the letter's authenticity.
If the admission is the truth, then Jackson is a liar.
If the admission is a lie, as you suggested, then Jackson is a liar.
Either way, Jackson lies.
In the original script, there is no Lincoln Letter. Did QT add it to let the audience know that Jackson's lies shouldn't be believed?

>>
>>63935046

>It is fact that general's son is dead and came to wyoming to capture Jackson.
No, it's not fact. That claim was made by Jackson, who is a liar.

>how did the general's son die?
I don't think it really matters how the son died. Jackson just needed to find the General's weakness so he could exploit it. Jackson overheard the General say that he was going to Red Rock to make a tombstone for his son, who had gone to Wyoming and never returned home.
So Jackson concocted the most offensive, most hurtful story he could come up with in order to trigger the General into grabbing the gun, thereby letting Jackson kill the General in self-defense.

To be fair, Goggins probably digged the irony of his character doing so. QT has become really self indulgent the longer his career has gone, but this one toned a lot of that shit down. I think the one singular setting pretty much forced him too.

Still, having said that, he still does way overdo it in parts
>The graphic oral sex scene is left intact verbatim as it was on the leaked script
>The deaths are comically over the top and bloody

Obviously the OTT deaths are on purpose, but i can't figure out why. it doesn't chime with the movies tone at all. At one point someone is coughing up blood, and it's literally like that vomiting scene in Team America

HOW does the cock sucking scene fit into the movie? What's the purpose of it? It doesn't set up Warren's character anymore--we know he's a badass bounty hunter who fought against the South. And it has NOTHING to do with the Domergue gang. In fact, the General had nothing to do with the plot at all. The General and the cock sucking scene are totally extraneous.

And in fact, those scenes should make Chris HATE Warren, when in fact, they become "buddies."

This movie is just so full of holes and it so illogical when you begin to think about it.

>>
>>63939924
>should make Chris HATE Warren, when in fact, they become "buddies."
Chris almost drank the poisoned coffee. I got the impression that Chris was so shook up from that near death experience that it affected his judgment later on. That's why he refused when Oswald asked him to kill Warren, even after the gang promised they would let Chris go safely, and even give him Oswald's body for the reward. I think in Chris' mind, he was thinking, no way, these bastards tried to poison me and they can't be trusted at all
>>
>>63939117
no sorry I'm neither American or autistic.
>>
>>63940551
Also, what other guarantee other than their word did he have that they would keep their promise?

Think the way he acted was quite in his character.

I dont see much point in discussing "what ifs", so ill just talk about how the plot developed.

Didnt much like the way Tarantella, gets in the way of the movie with his narration, all that he said couldve easily been shown subtlely in the shots, like the coffee poisoning.

I quite liked the flashback, just think it would be better if it was before Jackson had killed the Mexican, and before the british dude and Chris were shot. After Jackson exposed his theory a cut right there would leave us in the expectation of what would happen while also giving the background of the other characters.

As for the Generals son rape story, I guess it couldve been told in a gorillion different ways without, the black johnson sucking, but then again this is Tarantella in his racial crusade.

7/10, not among his best, but still a decent Tarantino flick.

It was a comedy for me throughout

He's an English guy in the script too. All the characters were clearly written for the actors they got. It was stupid obvious while reading it.

Also Tim Roth was one of the two first people to get the script. The other was Madsen.

what I really liked about this movie is that you don't want some of the characters to die, if it any of them.

like, edge of your seat type shit waiting for someone to get blasted who you like..

then it shows you there all cunts (flashback scene). although I wish daisy got out.

Yeah but the stuff between the "fireworks" scene and the soldiers walking through the sunset scene were eh
>>
It was better then Sicario and The Revenant, both of which takes 1.5+ hours to tell a story that could have been told in 20 minutes.

Solid one-linners, decent amount of gore, and a good conclusion. The flashback was forced but it didn't detract from the overall movie. Also the blowjob scene triggers white people (look at older white people during that scene, it's hilarious how they look away) so that's a fun bonus.

9/10 movie.
>>
>>63943578

What the fuck, why? Watching that cunt get hanged in the end was so satisfying. Tim Roth and the southern hillbilly were best characters.

A lot of talk like every Tarantino movie, but the plot was extremely simple and not surprising in the least. Kurt Russel was the only good character IMO

Thats exactly how I felt about The Hateful Eight. Your pleb is showing, le epic Tarantino one-liners doesn't really make up for being a shit-tier plot that took 2 fucking hours to play out.

Has this movie been released in theaters yet?

Where are you seeing all these older white people cringing and looking away?

ALSO, isn't Tarantino just ripping off the GUN-TO-THE-HEAD-GAY-BJ thing from "The Shield"? That show did it years and years ago.
>>
>>63943826
Funny how opinions can differ.

For me Kurt had the weakest acting in the crew, his delivery was just not convincing, saying this as someone who enjoys watching Kurt.

Anyways this is Tarantino when was the last time you saw one of his movies with an intricate plot? Jackie Brown maybe?

Its all about witty diailogue, humour and gore with different backgrounds.

Jackie Brown > Inglorious Basterds > Pulp Fiction > Reservoir Dogs > Hateful Eight > Kill Bill 2 > Kill Bill 1 > Deathproof
>>
>>63943890
Why are so many people complaining about the dialogue, the length and the slow pacing ? That's what he does best. That's why Reservoir Dogs was so great, same goes for the car ride and the dinner scene in Pulp Fiction and the card game scene in Inglourious Basterds. I could have watched 2 more hours of that shit.
It's like you people think Django Unchained is his magnum opus, holy hell.
>>
>>63944030
I just think Tarantino is a weak director, its like every movie he makes now has gotten progressively worse.

I like his earlier stuff, RD, Pulp Fiction, Jackie Brown, even Kill Bill for its shlocky violence.

Ever since Inglorious Basterds though its just gotten stupid, Django was bad and so is H8tful 8

Sure he has great dialogue as always, but that can't carry a film completely to "great" status.
>>
I'm one hour into this movie and I can't bring myself to pay attention to it anymore, boring as shit.

Maybe not as good as RD, but I thought all of their interactions were witty and tenseful. I think most of it was pretty funny too, weird that I don't see many people talking about the humor. I feel like taking a guess as to why but I won't.
