I like the fact that Finn is not a jedi. That means that he left the First Order because he is human and saw how cruel the Order was. It has nothing to do with jedi powers. This is why I also like Poe as a ace pilot, he doesn't need force to be good.

I want him to be force-sensitive, train as a Jedi, but decide to go out and do something else with his gift like Maz or whatever her name is. His entire arc seems to be leading him away from fighting: he quits an army, and the only fights he wins are in a starfighter; all of the one-on-one fights he's in, he loses badly. I just don't think he has the heart for it when he's staring his opponent down face-to-face, so perhaps he opens a new path for the Jedi, where they resolve conflicts without combat.
