I never thought after the first 3 movies they'd stick with the same fucking jokers again. I always saw STAR WARS as maybe exploring new places and showing other things going on in the universe, but with a more fantasy element that would separate it from Trek's sci-fi. Maybe there were jedi and sith in one part of the galaxy but not in the others. They had a whole universe to explore but can't tell new stories without going back to the same tired shit over and over.
