The scene was a few frames too long or whatever, but it was pretty impressively acted given the context. They were probably basically handed "the two stare each other down trying to dominate one another with the force" and managed to make it look pretty cool.
If you're just into action it might seem lame or boring. If you go into it with a reading of things like the master-slave dynamic then the scene has added weight.
