I just finished watching the prequel trilogy for the first time since I saw them in theater.
Phantom Menace was surprisingly enjoyable, Attack of the Clones less so. Hayden's Anakin is a chore to watch, except when he's interacting with Palpatine. AotC was severely lacking in memorable moments and the cgi in the final battle was somehow even worse than in PM, to the point that it left a bad aftertaste of the whole movie.
For some reason I never found Jar Jar Binks to be nearly as distracting as others seem to. I loved the pod racing scene, and when Duel of the Fates started playing near the end I actually got goosebumps.
I'm unsure which I'd consider better between 1 and 7 since both had plenty of fun scenes but were overall pretty dumb movies.

Empire is O-V-E-R-H-Y-P-E-D. Probably the worst Star Wars circlejerk there is. It is a technically excellent movie composed of the shitty middle chapters of a novel, a ridiculous muppet, and some of the cringiest slapstick in any of the films. AND EVEN THEN IT IS THE THIRD BEST STAR WARS MOVIE.
