it's been a long time since i enjoyed a female character that doesn't get naked, she was really fucking good, i also loved Michael Madsen because i love Michael Madsen, and Tim Roth and Kurt Russell were great, but the movie felt short and not as ambitious as QT's other stuff, it was enjoyable but average as fuck, it was more than an hour and a half of characters just knowing each other with filler dialogue, i wanted to see more of them... you know... doing stuff, it felt like a wasted opportunity, it could've been really good. That being said, i enjoyed it

It was extremely mediocre.
Like all of his films it was very well directed, but his scripts have been getting worse and worse.
Since this wasn't just a genre pastiche piece, but actually relied on a lot of dialogue, it really hurt the film. It's flowery and shallow now. This was really evident back in Inglorious Basterds with the card game scene.
It's like he's just lost his touch. I hope he dials this back for his last two films and relies more on his visual capabilities.

Man this was really bad. Normally I don't mind Tarantino being self-indulgent but this was just him layering a ton of ~clever~ dialogue scenes and plot twists on top of each other with no point to it.
What are the callbacks at the end supposed to mean? What is "When the Hangman catches you, you hang" and reading out the Lincoln letter supposed to signify? Beyond that it's a callback and callbacks are good writing, look at how clever it is coming full circle.
