What do you think George thought about episode 7? You think he liked it?
He liked it
He's probably telling himself "it wasn't that good."
He called it a sloppy rip off of a new hope and it was riddled with plot holes and horrible comic relief/dialogue
oh wait sorry I thought you were asking my opinion

George is the brains behind this franchise.
His opinion should matter the most.
He probably liked it better when he wrote it in the 1970s and it was a somewhat original idea.

this

>A New Hope
>original
Go watch The Hidden Fortress.
>>63904237
meh
At both the american and European premiere he was miserable as fuck.
He even said at one point something like "theres loads of space ship movies now"
>I think the fans are going to love it. It’s very much the kind of movie they’ve been looking for.
Wow. That almost feels like an "I'm sorry." I feel a bit like an asshole now.
Prequels still sucked, but damn.

Star Wars has never been original. The first movie was pretty much The Hidden Fortress: In Space.
Georges must be feeling like a divorced man sitting at a fancy table, observing his ex-wife whoring around the party like there is no tomorrow, as he slowly sips from a Scottish whisky a perpetual smirk on his face.

but the prequels were as good as TFA
>I bet he liked Hateful 8 more with BBC
> CAN YOU CONCEIVE OF WHAT IT IS LIKE TO DWELL WITHIN THE MIND OF LUCAS
Of course, I cannot. Is the man insane? Cleary. Can he make a competent film? It seems not, at least for the past 38 years. Unlike fellow world-builder Mel Gibson, his insanity seemed to work against his filmmaking chops instead of augmenting them. Gibson made PotC and Apocalypto, two god-tier fantasy epics that could not have been made other than by a madman auteur.
I mean compare the two auteur's downfalls. Gibson's is that he succumbs to his bloodlust; Lucas's is that he succumbs to his greenscreen??? FUCK the PT and why the fuck can't episodes 8 and 9 be directed by Matt Reeves and Duncan Jones respectively?!!?!?!
>>63904772
Apocalypto was awesome.
>we will never get the Vikings Gibson film with DiCaprio
Feels shitty
>>63904705
Better famalam

>why the fuck can't episodes 8 and 9 be directed by Matt Reeves and Duncan Jones respectively?!!?!?!
Matt is good but I prefer Rian Johnson. However, I agree that Duncan Jones should do Episode IX instead of Colin Trevorrow. Colin isn't bad but he isn't anywhere near as good as Duncan.
>>63905069
No. Episodes I and II are far worse than VII.
>>63904705
>>63905069
V > IV > VI > VII > III > I > II
>>63904237
glib facsimile
>>63905208
pretty much this
>>63905208
Switch VI and VII and this is my opinion.
There's some irredeemable bullshit in ROTJ
>>63905302
like what?
ignore the ewoks and it's great
>>63904309
Hey Georgie boy.
>>63905420
The ewoks take up a lot of screen time. Way too much. Every character gets a little muddled in their characterization, especially Han. There are no stakes in the final confrontation between Luke and the Emperor. The plot with Leia being Luke's sister is rushed. The millennium falcon becomes a super godlike ship that cannot be touched.
Basically real life influenced the script too much if you get what I mean. Even though it's not very clear what I mean.
>>63905566
>The millennium falcon becomes a super godlike ship that cannot be touched.
Hey now. She lost the dish.
On the one hand, I'd have liked Han's feeling that he'd never see her again to come true. On the other hand, I didn't want Lando to die.
>>63905566
>Even though it's not very clear what I mean.
At least you already know you're an idiot.
>>63904545
no, it feels like he is talking to plebs (because he is)
TFA has no vision
>>63904237
>they may have gone too far in a few places
>>63905636
What I mean is that people's outside opinions of things in the fictional universe changed things in that fictional universe. This is pretty obvious with the Falcon going from a serviceable rust bucket to an untouchable pinnacle of engineering between V and VI. Also, real life wrote the script because Lucas decided he wanted to make ROTJ the conclusion of the series at the last minute, so a lot of things felt kind of hastily thrown together, like the brother/sister plot and Yoda's death.
Why are you so hostile, anyway?
>>63904772
Damn gibson knows how to make a good movie, I was completely captivated by apocalypto. The merchants wont let him make anymore though.
