The point I'm making is before he was crippled, his potential was much higher. He had the highest midichlorian count in history and was extremely proficient in dueling too, a rare combination. Anakin is like 100 gallon tank, that's filled to say 10%, so 10 gallons. The 10 gallons represent his connection with the force, training and meditating and what not fills the tank slowly
But then he gets rekt and gets his limbs cut off, so the tank now only holds say 60 gallons
He can still train and fill up the remaining tank, it's just not as big anymore, still, Vader was more powerful than Anakin.
What many people forget is that Luke is ALSO ridiculously powerful by average Jedi standards and so is Obi Wan. In fact, the only major character that isn't some force juggernaut in all 6 movies (ignoring 7 for the sake of the argument) is Qui Gon Jin. Plagueis uses the force to create and sustain life.

Rey may be a positive role model in the sense that she is so competent at everything, but she's just a boring character. She solves problems quickly and even when she makes mistakes, she quickly recovers from them without consequences as significant as other characters. The only thing about her that's interesting is external to her, her parentage.
By contrast, Kylo suffers from immense character defects that seems like it will take the entire trilogy to resolve. I find the dichotomy between his outward menace and inward insecurity interesting and I can see tremendous room for growth.

Rey had never used a light saber in her life, yet she managed to beat Kylo who had been using one for years. In addition, she learns how to use the force in, what, a day? She went from thinking the force was a myth to being able to resist and even beat someone who had been using it for years and was even trained by Luke fucking Skywalker.
What little personality she had was 90% "I am a strong female character who don't need no man" which basically meant that she snapped back at male characters for helping her and that she could win a fight against any male.

The whole Starkiller thing was stupid. How the hell are they going to have a bigger threat than that for the next two movies? The coolest part of the movie for me was the vision Rey had and the Knights of Ren. How dope would it be for a group of dark Jedi who betrayed Luke and destroyed the New Temple to be the overarching baddies of the movies?
Imagine, an elite group of Linkin Park listening Black Knight emofags and edgelords led by the supremely insecure Kylo, taking back the Empire one planet at a time with the first order. Each member of this group of outcasts and fuck ups have their own deep rooted psychological issues, the tumblr and devianarts fags would eat it up. It'll make it all the more satisfying when each one gets cut down throughout the trilogy.
Honestly I'm biased because I'm a huge mark for the "group of unique bad guys that get beaten one at a time" formula for movies like these. I think it's because I played too much Sly Cooper as a kid.

I admit I did hear that she was a bad character before watching the movie, but that really was a big part of her personality. For example, on Jakku after meeting Finn, explosions were going off and people ere getting killed left and right(and, iirc the characters were taken off guard by this, meaning it was a complete surprise) and instead of being like "oh shit whats going on" her primary concern is that Finn keeps grabbing her hand. And this also happened after she realized Finn was a good guy with good intentions.
