Finn is genuinely torn up that he's being accused of treachery. That's his indoctrination coming back to the surface again.
The Stormtrooper that confronts him is a true believer of the First Order and sees himself as about to deliver righteous vengeance on a heretic.

The movie did a good job at making the storm troopers more fleshed out and less robotic. The melee combat helped a lot.
