Many of the "oldfags" here are around 25-30 (maybe that's generous) and grew up loving movies like Batman and Robin, Kazaam, and of course, The Phantom Menace. Yet, as time goes on, we realize that those movies sucked, we were just too young to realize.
We do realize, however, that there were good, well-written movies in our childhood that kids AND adults could enjoy, such as Toy story, the Land Before Time, and Home alone.
The purpose of a kids' movie is to entertain kids. I don't see how any kid could be entertained by the prequels, where literally nothing interesting happens for 50 minutes, the pacing is drab, and the characters act like slabs of cardboard.
