Most times, when its not this season, reviewers get DVD's of the film so they dont have to see it in theaters and can watch it from the comfort of their own home and then they (actually, usually their friends, family, etc) rip said DVD and release it. But this time of the year? Its award nomination time. They send out tons of DVD's to the voters.
