ITT: Movie theater experience at Star Wars
>>
1 person clapped at the beginning
that was about it
>>
Half the audience cheered at the Millennium Falcon
Entire audience cheered at Han Solo
Nobody cheered at Leia
Nobody cheered at C3PO
A few girls saw "awwww" at R2D2
A few people "woo'd" at Luke
3 people clapped at the end
About 14 people stayed for a possible end of credits scene, including me
Nobody got laid
>>
People cheered a couple of times when we saw the Falcon and Han and Chewie showed up.

I told a joke after the BvS trailer that made everyone laugh so I felt good about myself.

That's about it. good movie, good experience
>>
Some glitches with the trailers.
Some clapping at the beginning, Han showing up and end
Some laughter at most of the main jokes
Pretty gud 8/10 experience.
>>

claps at the title screen, claps when han appears
>>
>>63858184

Just got back from seeing it, nothing out of the ordinary or whatever. Laughing in the expected places, no clapping at the end.
>>
They didn't allow white males at my screening, so I gave my ticket to one of the black men standing in the theater so my girlfriend had someone to watch it with.
>>
I watched in Korea since I'm on holiday and everyone just sat in silence the whole movie. Pretty fucking weird.

Are you kidding? The movie was basically capeshit.

>>
I laughed innopropriately whenever the black comic relief guy fell on his ass, or was rejected by the girl, or was the butt of a joke, which was often.
>>
One guy almost clapped when the STAR WARS logo came up.
A guy in front of me laughed when Punished 3P0 appeared, and he also rubbed his face in the lead up to Han's death. He was probably spoiled.

Standard stuff theatre-wise but I just so happened to sit next to the one piece of shit that talked during the movie

>was chewing and had a spit cup in the armrest, audibly spitting every few minutes
>breathing very loud, you know when you nose sometimes whistles when you breath out if theres snot or something
>when the "A long time ago..." card showed up he started singing the opening crawl music before it had started
>right before han dies he says he's totally gonna die
>his girlfriend tells him to shut up multiple times
>immediately after the final scene he yells "MOTHERFUCKERS" before the credit music even plays

I feel cheated out of a proper experience

Only thing I disliked was these little kids in the front row of me were fiddling around half the time, before I walked in I saw things saying "happy birthday" and there was a party of people (they were in my seat so I had to fiddle around a bit until I actually got it). Since it was one of their birthdays I think I just didn't say anything.

If there was no birthday thing though I would have kicked the back of their chair. Little shits. Good movie though.

RT ratings mean nothing
>>
>>63858578

A movie isn't "good" because it has good reviews, otherwise all you'd need to do is bribe a couple thousand reviewers to make the greatest movie of all time.

You can't even argue in favor of the movie, that's the clearest sign that it can't stand on its own merits and needs a defense force made up of fedora posters.

I booed the interracial kiss and was escorted out of the theater by security without even getting to take my shower. There's a clip of it going viral over on Reddit if you want to check it out.

>and saying it's "basically capeshit" isn't a fucking valid criticism either, faggot, it's a vague unfalsifiable buzzword complaint

Most capeshit movies are made using a very boring formula designed to appeal to young children and autistic neckbeards, that is lasers (or colored blasts, "superhero" powers etc) and quippy dialogue (the lowest form of writing, since the audience can't show disgust to scare off autistics and the young can't understand why it's so cringy).

2 kids next to me keep talking "who's that?" to his father

I literally signed up for a bad movie experience when I decided to do the marathon

All the clapping and cheering made it hard to hear what the movie was saying. I took my nephew to see it today and was actually able to hear some scenes better since I think most people in this screening were seeing it for a second time.

I could not find one person to go see the movie with me, so I made the mistake of going by myself. There was a couple behind me who must have been on drugs. The guy was vegging out and clearly high AF, but the girl was out of her fucking mind. When Finn was leaving Rey for the first time at orange-bitch's hut, she was audibly sobbing. This was 10 minutes after being introduced to the character. She gave running commentary throughout the climax, and the only time it was quiet was when she went to the snack bar three separate times. I asked her to be quiet, but she went on. I didn't want to get more insistent because they were black and I'm not dying over a shit star wars film.

I really enjoyed the complementary laugh track from the audience, though!
>>
>>63859172
They started those at 1AM. I wasn't going to be there that early, but when I got there at 8AM they were 30 minutes into Revenge of the Sith.

There were lots of people sleeping. Not even a clap for Vader's first breath.

Saw the first IMAX showing in my area on release day. After three or four trailers, some guy yelled GOD DAMNIT when another one started. The audience laughed and we all groaned at the beginning of every trailer after that (there were three or four more). Plenty of clapping, laughing and cheering throughout the movie. It was fun.

Went early on Friday morning since I didn't feel like going at 7 the night before.

Pretty good, AMC did a full renovation. Only thing that annoyed me was all the faggots that took work off to see this awful movie. Since AMC has really fancy chairs now, there were less seats so more showing were sold out. Managed to see it at around 11 AM, no clapping/cheering except for some obnoxious negresses behind me.

Otherwise not too bad, 9/10 because the chairs had fucking recliners.
>>
I went in at 1:15pm on Friday in Kansas City.

Theater wasn't full, the seat next to me was open (recliner seating, was nice)

Just a normal movie experience. As the credits rolled like 3 people started to clap but quickly stopped when they realized no one else was clapping. I hope for their sake they were children and not adults doing that.

High pitched giggling

>Snoke appears
Girl pulls out her phone and googles that shit for (no joke) 8 fucking minutes...

>Finn is defeated
Black guy: "aww bitch nigga!"

>Finn gets a forehead kiss and "bye friend" speech
Loud "friend-zoned" from near back of theatre. Some laughing followed.

>landing on island looking for Luke

Sat next to a guy who was a huge fan and told me to read the books in the extended universe (like I would ever fucking do that). He had two kids both about 8-10 years old and ignored them so that he could talk to me about Star Wars timeline and shit. Didn't want to tell him to shut up but a couple of times he commented on things like "Woah that's the Millennium Falcon!"

Besides that a lot of people clapped when the Star Wars logo came and afterwards as well like typical Americans.

I guess I don't know the whole situation or context, but I don't understand why you'd take a kid who gets seizures to a busy showing of a STAR WARS movie. On top of that, they literally sat right in the middle of the theater, the hardest place to leave in an emergency

as a theater tech i get to see all the reactions with different audiences

lucasfilm cheers 1/5
a long time ago cheers 2/5
star wars cheers 5/5
millenium falcon cheers 3/5
han solo cheers 4/5
12 parsecs cheers 1/5
vader mask cheers 1/5
leia cheers 1/5
c3po cheers 5/5
r2d2 cheers 2/5
end credit cheers 4/5

one of those showings was sponsored by some radio station and was filled with faggots who clearly werent fans because they didn't cheer at anything

also everyone laughs at the exact same parts: who talks first, i need a pilot, finn knocked by elephant thing, bb8 shock, i am with the resistance, this is what we look like, bb8 lighter thumb, cute boyfriend, that thing can understand you too, multiple chewbacca noises, dialogue with ethnic pirates, i will remove these restraints and drop my weapon, im in charge now tone it down, finn head bob and rey climbing, and c3po slapping r2

no one laughs at anything else. its weird how easily hollywood can manipulate audiences. everyone looks like a bunch of sheep in a movie theater

My experience was good but the movie was shit, and anyone who says otherwise is either a shill or is in denial because of nostalgia.

Lack of consistency

>Kylo Ren displays impressive force ability by freezing a blaster bolt in mid-air
>Finn has trouble fighting one stormtrooper with a melee weapon, and then later can somehow challenge Kylo in a saber duel.

Misleading the audience.

>Brienne of Tarth commander of stormtroopers fucking does nothing the whole movie and then betrays her army by taking down shield generator.

Re-hashing old plot ideas instead of creating new ones

>Orphan girl on not-tatooine left by her real family but is somehow knows how to pilot a ship and is a general mary sue about everything

>Poe gives a little data chip to soccer-droid, which totally isn't ripping off the time R2-D2 and C3PO had to go through a desert and hopefully run into someone who could help them

My first experience was completely ruined. Was there with my father who's a heavy breather - that's fine, I knew this going in. Little autistic kid to my right, I think he was mute or something because he was speaking to his dad in sign language and would only occasionally let out a little tard noise when excited - this, again was okay, I felt happy for the kid. But the worst part was these two fucking cunt kids right behind me who would NOT SHUT THE FUCK, saying bullshit like "he's the bad guy, she's the good guy" and "don't go in there girl" - this is what broke me, especially when during the scene on the bridge THEY FUCKING SPOILED IT THE FUCKING CUNTS THEY WERE FUCKING FIVE HOW THE FICK DID THE KNOW THE SPOILER I WANT TO FUCKING KILL THE FUCKING PRICKS.

My second viewing was much better though, nobody claps or cheers here in the UK, and there was some reserved laughter.

Right, Finn is a Stormtrooper who randomly and for little reason whatsoever breaks all the indoctrination he has gone through and decides to betray his programming and help Poe escape. They crash land back on not-tatooine and Finn ends up finding Rey who has conveniently found the orange balldroid.

she trusts for absolutely no reason that Finn is who he says he is and they decide to go off and save the Galaxy together.

But wait, OH NO the Empire is after them, so they randomly find the Millennium Falcon which just happens to be there for no reason at all.

I wish Poe had been the main character, or at least have Finn get some more development instead of having him join the good side for no reason.
>>
>>63860889
>Finn is a Stormtrooper who randomly and for little reason whatsoever breaks all the indoctrination he has gone through and decides to betray his programming and help Poe escape.

I assumed it's because he's a jedi

It would explain why he's able to fight Kylo with the saber
>>
>>63860889
Again, it paid homage to the originals, but there was still plenty of stuff to make it stand out on it's own
>>
>>63860889
Finn is a janitor who noped the fuck out on his first combat mission, which was to execute relatively defenseless people.

Poe was just the means for him to escape.

>I assumed it's because he's a jedi
>Finn is a Janitor who noped the fuck out

He's not a Jedi, and even if he's force sensitive, he has no training whatsoever, he doesn't know how to use the force, and has no experience wielding a lightsaber.
We can see this because he had trouble fighting just a single stormtrooper with anakins old lightsaber.

Kylo Ren clearly has knowledge of the force since he froze a fucking blaster bolt mid-air, a feat which has never been seen before and easily force blasted anyone who got in the way of his tantrums.

and as for Rey, how is it even possible that she gained the level of power she did, when even the strongest force potential users such as Luke had to train extensively under Obi-Wan and Yoda's supervision before being able to use the force?

I imagine you foreigners sit in your chairs with perfect posture, both feet on the ground and both hands on the arm guard.

Any noise made in your theaters results in the theater guard tasing the offending noisy client and escorting them out of the theaters. Children get some leniency, the parents can just slap them until they shut up.

Sat next to two literal neckbeards with the quintessential neckbeard B.O. stank that we all know. They were arguing about storytelling in MGS5 vs Half life, and one of them actually uttered the word "Gaben"

The clapping and laughing ruined the experience for me. Everytime I was getting into the movie some fat cunt started to laugh so loud that I couldn't hear the dialogue. The whole theater heard him. He had the loudest ugliest laugh I have ever heard and he laughed at every single joke in the movie. He even did the same for the trailers.

I did not expect claps at the fight but I'm almost 100% sure it's because people think Adam Driver is ugly and are just cheering to see an ugly guy get defeated.

Which is really fucking annoying because he's a genuinely decent actor. Bet if it was Liam Hemsworth playing the role it would've been dead silent after the fight.

Nothing really bad
Whole theatre was damn overcowded, every single screen (8 all in all) were showing Ep VII this midnight
Lighspots in SW spacefighter were dancing all over the lobby, a really nice effect
A decent amount of dressed up fans but not that many
Cheering, clappign and some toy light saber rising when the Star Wars logo appeared
Cheering for the Millenium Falcon
No laughter when Kylo Ren removed his mask but, but a girl whispered next to me "Wow, he is ugly"
Audible reactions and laughter at the jokes, quips and BB8 actions
Cheering when Leia and 3PO or R2D2 showed up
Almost silent tension when Luke appeared or Han died

Decent fan audience that didn't go totally nuts and the reaction were not that exaggerated that it annoyed me.

I was at the same showing the Mister Plinkets guys went to. A lot of people kept staring at them and when they left a couple of fat neckbeards started hounding them trying to get them to say what they thought about the movie. The fat one with the black hair seemed like he wanted to kill himself, I felt bad for that dude, the little twink one was smiling at first then he just looked like he wanted to get out of there ASAP. People clapped when the Millennium Falcon showed up, and there was some mild chuckling at most attempts at humor. However the loudest laughter was when, after like 15 minutes straight of ads, the trailer for TFA came up.
