/tv/ thinks he isn't force sensitive just because he isn't Chosen One-tier powerful like the Skywalkers, but there are hints that he has some abilities. He was a janitor. He does some things shooting in the Falcon and fighting with the lightsabre that make me think he might be a future Jedi, even if he isn't Vader-tier.
>>
Also, just the fact that he "awakens" to not wanting to genocide with the First Order seems like a force thing to me.
>>
PLOT TWIST: He was not confident in his abilities and once he gets some training he will be powerful enough to defeat Rey

He did manage to hold his own against Kylo Ren but I wouldn't hold your breath Anons.

Rey is the main character of the sequel trilogy, Finn might be a Jedi if there's a timeskip, but it's definately going to be Rey.

Finn will be to busy having starship adventures with his best friend Poe.
>>
He's Mace Dindu's relative. Screencap this.
>>
>>63845349

He's the token visually offense quota filler, of course he will. This is the same franchise that tried to make Sam Jackson a believable jedi.
>>

Rey is obviously the central hero, true, but I think Finn is going to be a force user when all is said and done.
>>

My friend said that in the comics it's hinted that Poe will be the one to become a Jedi. This is also why in the movie Poe can fly the ship so well. He's force sensitive
>>
>>63845639
In the movie someone, I forget who--the old guy at the beginning?--says the Jedi have to come back for there to be hope, so I have the feeling that there will be quite a few.

I wouldn't be surprised if it's all three of them.

It'll probably be sometime between 8 and 9.

Rey is Luke's daughter - automatically OP in the Force.
Kylo is much the same - being Rey's cousin.

Finn is just some random guy plucked away from his family. He could easily be force-sensitive, but he won't have the raw power Rey and Kylo Ren will when they finish their training.

Finn's going to be more like Kyle Katarn:
>a guy who became a stormtrooper
>defected to the good guys
>learned about his force powers
>became a skilled Jedi

Like Kyle, Finn will most likely be a Resistance/Republic agent who occasionally uses the Force to get out of dangerous situations, but not an outright Jedi who keeps strictly to their code and mannerisms.

Hell, assuming the rumors are true and Finn's role was supposed to be white - then it's obvious that Finn would've been an analogue to Kyle Katarn.

I'm conviced Finn was supposed to be Kyle Katarn-lite.

Question about this:

Was Finn disoriented from his unit killing innocents? Or is he force sensitive and he was 'feeling' Kylo Ren's approach?

While he's walking in the intro scene, Kylo stops and just stares at Finn (in his armor). It could've been the blood on his face, but his head fully turned.

He could've sensed Finn's power.

It's true. the Jedi are stoic and reserved as fuck. Whether it's due to Jackson's acting or not, his Windu is believable for the Era he's in.

It's also why the Sith were better to look at in the prequels, In-Universe, the Sith are ruled by their emotions and allowed to actually fucking emote.

Whereas Anakin and Obi-Wan have to be a stale as fucking wood.

It's the reason why Episode III was better than the previous 2 - Anakin succumbed to his emotions and began to emote (still had a shitty script), whereas Obi-Wan started to feel heartbreak over his friend's submission to the Dark Side.

It's also the reason why the script was so garbage, the Jedi have to be emotionless robots who feel nothing. Whereas the Sith are free to go apeshit whenever they want.

Windu walked a fine line between the Dark and Light, he started to show shades of this in his aggression against Palpatine during their fight.
>>
>>63846163
I don't know if that pushed him over the edge, but it definitely shook him. I think he decided to bust the fuck out after they just killed all the civilians though.
>>
>>63845536

Why because he can turn on a lightsaber? That's like saying you're a master fencer because you can pick up a sword.
>>
>>63846249
What? He did more than pick up a sword. He did OK for never having used it. But in this movie at least, the hallmark of someone who is force sensitive is being able to do things that they can't quite explain. He was able to do a lot of things right away, not just the lightsabre.
>>
>>63845764
This makes sense, because they really went out of their way to put out Finn promotional art and posters where he's holding a lightsaber. It would be really weird to have episodes 8 and 9 without Finn as a Jedi-in-training, retroactively it would make him in episode 7 "Hey remember when I totally failed with a lightsaber on more than one occasion for no reason?"

All three of the New Protagonists have displayed exceptional ability.

>Rey casually flying the Millenium Falcon like an Ace Pilot. She also beats Kylo in a duel despite not wielding a lightsaber before.

>Finn's marksmanship being so great that he NEVER misses a single shot in the movie, both on the Falcon and on the ground.

>Poe being an amazing pilot throughout the movie.

I'm positive all three of them are Force-Sensitive. Rey's going to be the only Jedi out of the 3, but Finn and Poe will use the Force in a very low-key manner for the rest of the trilogy.

>>63846402
True. Even though Finn w/ the Lightsaber was an obvious red-herring, I still don't think they would've kept all that promotional material with him holding it for nothing.

This is a classic hero-in-training moment. Unlike Rey who's naturally perfect at everything, Finn's going to take the long route, the average dude who's not great at anything, but he works hard to become a good fighter, It's literally Kyle Katarn's story.

He's going to spend the remainder of the trilogy hanging out with Poe and having space adventures. Rey and Luke will be searching the galaxy for potential Jedi recruits, Luke's gonna give Finn basic Force instruction, then send him off as a scout.

I don't see why Snoke has to be related to any existing characters.

Why can't he just be someone new and separate from all existing continuity - a brand new threat for Luke to fight?

Besides, Plagueis isn't canon anymore, and it's contrived to think he would survive Sidious' assassination.

The one Force Power Plagues would need to survive - is the one he never mastered.
>>
>>63847015
>Why can't he just be someone new
Where did a super powerful sith lord emerge from out of nowhere?
>>
>>63845436
I don't think Finn is force sensitive, but I also don't think Rey is the sole protagonist of this trilogy. It seems like Finn and Rey are both equally important as protagonists.

Rey's journey as a Jedi is going to take the central focus, but her relationship with Finn and the lengths he's willing to go to help her will be what keeps her on track and/or brings her back on track when she goes astray.

>implying Katarn wasn't OP as balls
I like your explanation though, it would be a shame to completely write off the entire Jedi academy as a 10-second flashback.

The way I prefer to think of it is that the padawans Kylo slaughtered were a just a bunch of literally whos and Luke began training Kyle Katarn and the others in his 60s rather than his 40s.

It'd save the most important parts of the EU, only with a 20 gap in the middle
>>
>>63847015
>Why can't he just be someone new and separate from all existing continuity
Because it's a fucking JJ Abrams movie. We need constant original series references, callbacks, and an interracial romance.

Windu also canonically used a fighting-style that only he could use that was fueled by his aggression. He had taken on two padawan's and had to kill them both when they tried to learn his style and turned to the Dark side.

Except aren't lightsabers extremely unwieldy to use, due to the almost total lack of mass anywhere but the hilt? As in unwieldy to the point of trying to use it like a normal melee weapon leads to limbs being cut off.
>>
Rey will fall to the dark side, Finn will be the romantic interest and will try to convince her to stay (kind of like Obi Wan and Anakin on Mustafar). Then Kylo Ren will turn good and Rey will fall too far to the dark side and will need to be put down. She will be the tragic hero, Ren will be a redeemed grey jedi. Screencap this.
