I didn't talk shit because I've never seen the guy act before and the trailers didn't make things seem particularly bad or good.
I'm glad he was one of the better parts. He wasn't a huge deal, but at the same time he didn't ruin the movie. I wish he could have gotten some more development though before leaving the troopers. Maybe show him being more conflicted. In the end, he ended up being a more interesting and entertaining character than rey who is all powerfully fueled by plot armor and made to be the perfect protagonist.

I didn't think the film gave the character a chance to be any good. He was just rushing from one dangerous situation to another. In the short bits of down-time he got to establish he didn't know what he was doing, which tells us very little about him.

They need some sort of twist for the next movie since it's supposed to make pottery out of Empire. i'm calling that Finn and Po end up in a relationship rather than Finn and Rey. If you imagine Rey as a female Luke, Po as Han, and Finn as Leia it kinda makes sense when you look at the way the relationships progressed in the OT.
