First of all, Dark Side users can't see dead people. Second, Kylo never met Darth or Obi-Wan so he wasn't linked to them at all. He was barely linked to Luke - hence the saber not going to him. Third, "good guy" is relative and from Kylo's perspective he was doing the right thing for the good of the galaxy. Fourth, he was only a halfling since Han had no Force abilities and this is probably what triggered him after Rey was born.
