You can learn to force ghost after you die. Vader and Qui Gonn learned it after death, so at the time of death they didn't know it, hence their body didn't instantly disappear. Obi-Wan and Yoda were taught it by ghost Qui Gon before they died, so they disappeared on death.

Anakin had no knowledge of how to return from death the way Qui Gon, Obi-Wan and Yoda could, and he did not know about the meditative technique that allowed Obi-Wan and Yoda to disappear. It is also a tradition for Jedi to be cremated. When Anakin went to Jedi heaven he probably met Yoda and Obi-Wan, who brought him back to see Luke again.
You also have to wonder, in all of Luke's years after Return of the Jedi, did he continue to commune with the spirits of Obi-Wan, Yoda, and his father through the force? I know Luke spoke to Obi-Wan's spirit in the EU, and Anakin even appeared before Leia to beg for her forgiveness, but would that be the case of Luke? Are there other Jedi he was able to communicate with in order to learn more teachings about the force?
