I was wondering about this too, but then I realized that's probably the most "complete" fun, action sequence in the movie, there's not much behind it, but it's very imaginative and playful, so I guess it was aimed mostly for kids.

Worst thing about that scene was that they wasted the talents of the Raid 2 guys. A wonderful action movie with superb action and great dramatic acting, and I was so damn hyped for the three characters that were hired for this. Got utterly disappointed
This movie felt like the Buu arc in Dragon Ball. Like, the whole universe exploded over the course of 12 hours.
