Why did it end so short? I kept feeling the "climax"

Why did it end so short?

I kept feeling the "climax" was just a small part of the movie.

Where's the real climax?

In Episode 9

This. The Luke reveal felt especially anticlimactic.
>>
Because the Death Star was fucking stupid and the attack on it was shot and directed horribly

Just like the original.

Star Wars Episode 7: The Hidden Climax

death star looked good during the firing scene with kylo on his shuttle, that was worth it

>implying you'll ever feel a climax in an Abrams movie

>Where's the real climax?
The climax your mom had today while you were away watching a children's movie.

Because that wasn't the climax

Is just happened way too fucking quick.

Ugh, the pacing of the movie was horrible. I didn't feel like it was building up to anything. They tried to emulate the feel of the Death Star attack in episode IV, but it didn't work in this case. I don't know what was so wrong about it. Like, they have the whole scene where they're briefing them, then they just throw you right into the damn battle five seconds later.
It was a little insulting when they tried to emulate the scene after the attack where they had all of the rebels running out to meet up with the pilots. I didn't feel the same emotion as I did when I watched ANH. I cry sometimes when I watch that scene, but with this it was just like...ehh. Too many god damn nostalgic callbacks that just didn't fucking work.

Everything in the whole damn movie happened way too fucking quick.

You need to go back to Storytelling 101 if you can't find the climax in a fucking Star Wars movie.

Kids nowadays all have ADHD and will eat that shit up

Yes, it was SUPPOSED to be the climax, but I think OP is insinuating that it didn't feel like it, nor was it executed like one, therefore it was not.
Personally, I enjoyed it, but too much shit like that just stuck out. Still better than the prequels, but that's setting the bar low.
