>expect to be Hollywood's next big thing
>carpenter literally hired off the street goes onto bigger things
>other male lead eventually gets lifetime achievement Oscar
>you voice cartoons for 30 years
>any other man would be bitter, but not mark hamill
>cool to fans
>makes kids close eyes when he does voices like the joker to keep the illusion alive
>known for being fan-friendly, personable guy

I hope this revitalizes his career, Mark Hamill just seems like a guy you really want to see win.
>>

>>carpenter literally hired off the street goes onto bigger things
That was Harrison you fuckhead.
>>
>>63811139
Dude could literally sit on his ass for the rest of his life and make enough money to live comfortably off the royalties from the OT.
>>
Hes a voice actor now and one of the better ones. Fuck movies. VO work is awesome.
>>
>>63811191
He knows that
>>
I don't think he wants to do live shit aside from final Star Wars roles.
>>
>>63811191
And even that's not true.
He was already in movies and was even helping with the casting of Star Wars before they decided to use him as Han.

>>63811139
considering he voiced cartoon characters before he was in star wars it's not surprising
>>
>>63811139

I'm pretty sure Hamill was happier playing the Joker than Luke. He's a massive fucking nerd
>>
>>63811250
Yeah, he was in other movies but he thought his career was going nowhere so he worked as a carpenter on the side. Get your facts straight.
>>
>>63811139
>any other man would be bitter, but not mark hamill
>cool to fans
That's only true for the last 20 years though. When The OT came out, he really didn't like it, mostly because it closed a lot of doors for him. Since it had such a huge success, many were afraid to cast "Luke Skywalker".
Which is why he turned to voice acting in the first place.
And then he followed the Leonard Nimoy route of revisiting the past and actually enjoying it.
Let's hope he doesn't follow too closely and dies right when his career gets revamped.
>>
Seems fine to me. Excited to see him as Trickster agin in Flash.
>>
>>63811326
Literally who?
>>
>>63811324
>Let's hope he doesn't follow too closely and dies right when his career gets revamped.

Don't even fucking joke about that man.
>>
What is wrong with voicing cartoons? You get good money, doesn't need to go to stupid sets or play around in the sand, just go to the comfy and nice studio say a few lines.
>>
>>63811139
This. Hamill is based.
>>
>>63811139
he is the most likeable guy in hollywood
>>

Hopefully Tarantino puts him in something
>>
>>63811273
That movie is so wizard
>>
>>63811139
Hamill is cool as fuck and a good guy.
>>
>>63811139
That accident really messed up his face, and thus his marketing potential. I sometimes forget that Hamill was a pretty boy before the crash.
>>
>>63811250
Nah. He had virtually given up on movies. Lucas met him when he installed cabinets at his house and they struck up a friendship after which Lucas cast him in American Graffiti.
>>
>>63811344

Trickster one of flash's rogues
>>
That seems completely fine. He was never built for the same roles Ford was, and Ford himself peaked decades ago.

Hamill did what he loved and has made millions from his work. Why should he be upset about that?

Character he played in the 90's Flash tv show and they got him to reprise it for the new Flash show. He had an episode in the first season and now he's scheduled to return. It's worth checking out because Hamill really does a great job.
>>
>>63811353
Nimoy died because his years of chain smoking caught up.
Hamill went through the same thing and had a hard time stopping.
Nimoy was ready to star in thre new Trek movies and died before the third.
Hamil is going to star in three new SW movies as well.
It's just too similar.
Granted, Nimoy was much older.
>>
>>63811245

>>

>>
>>63811420
Wow its amazing how much a car crash can fuck up your face. My aunt was in a car crash and they had to perform surgery on her nose but it actually made her look better than before. I guess its like playing roulette.
>>
>>63811223
VO jobs turned him into a lardass. This movie got him into the gym and mad gainz.
>>
>>63811420
Whats the difference exactly?
>>
>>63811139
Except Mark Hamill wanted to do animation from the very start. He's a real pop culture geek, particularly of comics/animation, and he always wanted to be a voice actor. The Star Wars gig and his other live action work was mostly just to keep him satisfied/pay the bills. Believe me that he would much rather play the Trickster on The Flash on the CW than be in any major Hollywood productions.

IIRC he passed on a chat show appearance over in England because of a secret about Luke that could've cost him some money from Lucasfilm

what was it though
>>

>Christopher Lee
I know this is bait but he's dead, buddy.
>>
>>63811637

maybe this is bait, but you're full of shit

he had that car accident that wrecked his looks and that was the prime reason he didn't get much movie work after the OT

anon I need to have a word with you
>>

I didn't realize he was also the Trickster in the 90s show too. Freaking cool. Go Barry's dad and Barry 2015 too you both rock. I'm soooo drunk now.

>>
>>63811597
Seriously, anon? You can't tell? The shape of his nose is completely altered. It was longer, sharper, thinner and straight. His philtrum and double chin is also less pronounced. Even the shape of his face and jaw has changed. That's not forgetting the marks on his face.

>>
>>63812721
Probably not. I don't think any of them get residuals. Because the movies have never made a profit. Not in a legal sense anyways, due to Hollywood Accounting

>"I get these occasional letters from Lucasfilm saying that we regret to inform you that as Return of the Jedi has never gone into profit, we've got nothing to send you. Now here we're talking about one of the biggest releases of all time. I don't want to look like I'm bitching about it, but on the other hand, if there's a pot of gold somewhere that I ought to be having a share of, I would like to see it."
- David Prouse
>>

Are these the same guy? Who is the other male lead that isn't the carpenter who was Harrison Ford?
>>
>>63812863
How the hell is Hollywood accounting anyway legal? They're literally making up lies, overestimating costs, while underestimating revenue. And yet Hollywood is seen is seen as this pro-left, anti-capitalistic, pro-government industry? They're screwing over their workers and the IRA to retain some of their profits. Big oil corporations maybe greedy, evil, and corrupt, but at least they're not blatant hypocrites.

Kind of funny that Lucas ended up hiring two actors who had already been in Ralph Bakshi films.

>>
>>63811139
It is funny though because by this point Hamill is more talented than Ford is and if he put in a bit more work probably could get the Lifetime Achievement Oscar as well.
>>
>>63811139
Im 90% sure he always wanted to be a voice actor.
>>
>>63811420
It's strange-- you really wouldn't expect a car crash to change someone's face that way, and the change was actually pretty subtle but none the less very noticeable. He started his career as a teenage heart throb, but the accident somehow aged him significantly. My best guess is that it fucked up his facial muscles somehow and made them looser, because his whole face sort of sagged after that. His nose probably got broken, too.

For such a young, handsome actor that was basically the death knell for his screen acting career outside of Star Wars. It really isn't fair that his career was stolen from him like that, but on the other hand he's very fortunate to be alive, and he ended up being able to cut out a very good career doing voice work.
>>
>>63811420

The crash was his fault. It's completely fair that he got face-fucked as a result of his own actions.

It was a convenient writing choice to help the audience accept that he looked different, for sure. Better than saturating his face with pancake makeup to try and hide the fact that he'd been in a car accident and had to have surgery.

If you define masculinity as having a face that looks ugly, bloated and sagging, sure. He was prime Aryan back in the day, sharp features and all. He certainly wasn't repulsive after the accident, but that speaks to how handsome he was before.
