The world building, set design, costume and make-up were all fantastic. They succeeded in making the backdrop a living breathing character itself, something the original trilogy excelled at.

The trash compactor isn't designed to be a prison. She can probably just walk out of there after pressing some emergency stop switch. And it doesn't take long for her to find a way to get off-world, it is likely she decided to make a run for it as soon as she could.
