Where were you when /tv/and /pol/got BTFO?
Say what you will about the rest of the movie -- the mary sue, the composition, the parroting of ANH, but Boyega was clearly the most charismatic presence on the screen (other than Harrison Ford of course).
Even though the dialogue he was given was startlingly sub-par at times, his lines were well-delivered and well-acted. I love Oscar Isaac in other things but he was pretty lackluster in this whereas Boyega immediately won me over.

Rey was nice to look at, at least and I'm pretty sure Oscar Isaac will do more in later movies as his character gets some more depth, but you're right. Adam Driver had a few really good scenes as well.
It probably helped that a lot of us weren't expecting much from him.
But yeah, he was a lot better than I had thought he would be.
My biggest gripe with him is his charater, although I get he doesn't like the first order because they stole him from his family and he saw them execute (rebellion scum) villagers, he's completely fine from one minute to the next to suddenly fire upon his once fellow stormtroopers

I had the same thought whenever that went down. It seemed like a pretty rushed transition but that's more of a problem for the director/writers to handle. I'm just talking about Boyega as an actor in the movie really surpassing my expectations.

Not only this character, but this entire trilogy exists only to show millions of impressionable young children a high profile interracial romance on the silver screen. Literally hundreds of millions of dollars are being spent on creating these movies and generating hype about these movies to make sure every single person in the western world sees the 20 second kiss scene in the next episode. Everyone knows the Jews seek to demonize the white man so no surprise Kylo is white and his evil master is even whiter! But who is the hero of the film? The black man?
