I swear Netflix is like always going for this faux-edgy thing, maybe not faux but I just mean how they will always have a lot of edgy content in a show and then there will need to be this hidden heart inside of it, Jessica Jones might be the most X-Rated tv show of all time but still had these "redemptive heart warming" scenes. You could pretty much say that about all Netflix shows.

I love bill, I love the MMPodcast, his 3 specials, and generally his brand of humor. This is not his brand of humor. This is some committee from Netflix grabbing ahold of an idea bill had and burying his vision beneath layers of edginess.
Something like this could have been done well, if they had handled the issues they eagerly wrestle with at every turn when theyre not being forced to try to be a comedy, but that would require subtlety, finesse, and a light touch. However, the show had none of that.
