Driver was good as well, he's very believable as an edgelord (which is what Kylo Ren is). The biggest problem with the movie was not only the character of Rey (literally Mary Sue) but the actress herself. Ridley is just not a very good actress, and it's painfully obvious that she's acting in every scene. That broke the immersion for me.

I said physical, color of skin is irrelevant, as in build, and previous roles, people are cast based on looks all the time, especially in movies like this.
but it's a moot point, it seems like they were looking for big-bad and kinda rough, based on some of the previous casting choices.
Now I'm just confused as to why, I get that he's a stormtrooper, but they didn't really do much with that aspect of the character in the entire film.
I honestly would have liked boyega as a anti-hero or a straight up antagonist though, he would have done a better job than what we got with Jedi Edgelord and Phasma-trash-compactor.
