Yeah, in the original footage they shot for Episode IV, Jabba was a human instead of a giant slug. So when Han was walking around him, it didn't account for his tail.
To fix they, they lifted Solo up as he walked behind him, to make it look like he stepped on Jabba's tail.

That's because they used the dialog from the Jabba scene in the Greedo scene instead when they couldn't do the fx needed for the Jabba scene. They should have got a closeup of Boba Fett or something else during the stepping on the tail in the SE. That way it wouldn't have looked so stupid.
