I love it to death. The performance acts, the guests, Stephen's peccadilloes and personal interests, it's all just wonderful. It's the only late-night talk show I find watchable besides Conan, and Conan isn't nearly as good.

I've watched every episode, not just one, so my opinion is a little more informed than yours. Stephen is left-leaning but also opposes abortion and supports the rule of Christendom. I'd prefer it if the political stuff were eschewed altogether, but to say it's a Democrat program is simply wrong.
He's definitely part of the Bilderberg agenda to silence Trump, and that I don't like. But for the most part, it's a wonderful show, I really enjoy the interviews and the comedy segments. It's something special.

I really like Colbert's Late Show but some segments are like that. It's not common, but it's hard to stomach if you are easy to anger and don't have a tolerant mind.
I hope he never changes regardless of his ratings. The world doesn't need another windsock late night host. Let him run the show he wants to run, I say. Besides the mandated Bilderberg influence, of course. Stephen Colbert is a breath of fresh air in late night talk, even when the air is putrid and stale.

They have nothing to replace it, and his contract is guaranteed, so their costs are kind of fixed as long as the show lasts.
He's only getting 4.5/year for 3 years. I'd expect him to live that out, and his ratings then will decided a renewal. 2018 is a long way away, he's only 1/12 of the way there.
