IV is the best move in the franchise by a country mile. We're all just spoiled because we grew up with it and are intimately familiar with all of the story beats, so the more 'emotional' nature of ESB makes it seem like the better movie. It isn't.

The space battle part was great too. So was all of the Jabba stuff. The only uncharacteristically mediocre part of that movie was the latter half of the Endor scenes and people are STILL butthurt about it.
ROTJ is not nearly as weak of a film as people make it out to be. It's still outshone by the films preceding it but unlike the prequels it's a legitimately very good film judged on its own merits.
