Will we ever get a fantasy film series as good as this again?
nope
If they adapt more fantasy series on par with LoTR, sure.

Be thankful that we got it as good as it is. The extended versions are the closest you could ever get to visualizing the books - each movie is a masterpiece... even despite orlando bloom.
Just give it a few years.
>series
no
but excalibur was pretty good

would kill for another age series
I would also want some new shit get rid of the LOTR EU and give me Frodo Returns movie

I don't think the silmarillion would work well as a movie 2bh
just wait until they finally get Elric of Melnibone on the screen. "you call yourself an anti-hero? how many of your friends AND WIVES has your demon-possessed hellblade killed THIS WEEK?"

What?

Then you are both wrong and an idiot. Film is explicitly a visual medium, Tolkiens is a very visual world.
It would do very well on film.

never got this kind of mentality. give a reason why, other than parroting what you hear everywhere

Give me a fantasy series that doesn't have eagles ex machina

I think it has the potential to be a great movie, it just might not appeal to as many people.
On a slightly different note: could there every be an equivalent to the LOTR trilogy in film for the science fiction genre?

>calls it a film
>when it literally has "motion picture" in the title

Star Wars

I like to think the SW prequel trilogy could've been something special if the dialogue, acting and overuse of greenscreen/CGI was cleaned up.
