Did Pegg knowingly sabotage Star Trek so that Star Wars will have no competition?
>>
Actors bending over backwards to shill movies never fail to make me cringe. I almost feel sorry for them.

Well he actually wrote this one, but yeah i don't know how he couldn't have seen this coming a mile away

Poor fucker, he knows. Trying his hardest to salvage what JJ raped through writing alone, but deep down he knows it's just been raped even harder by the guy who makes Fast & Furious meme movies.

I think we should wait though, Paramount always upsold how action-packed Star Trek was
>>
>>63747568
Star Wars has never had competition from the pseudo-intellectual Star Trek. Star Trek is just a meme show for losers who couldn't into science but want to at least sound like they know anything, which is why they hated the new Star Trek films because it basically showed to a wide audience how much "science" was actually in their silly little show.
>>
>>63747072
Simon Pegged looks like he could have easily played the cuckball when the CGI wasn't invented yet.
>>
To be fair he was right that marketing essentially boils down to banging the drum to get people into seats.

Action packed trailers for films that arent action arent anything new. But I sincerely doubt that this new film will be like old Trek
>>
>>63747072
FUCK
>>
>>63749087
Have you ever watched Star Trek?. It's about politics and philosophy in the future.
>>
>>63747072

Fuck, I feel bad for the guy. He wrote the movie and the studios basically want to shill it as a GotG adventure sci-fi movie. He really got his shit fucked, he has to fix JJ's sloppy seconds and try to steer the franchise in to having a more Star Trek feel. Hopefully it will be better than the last two, and its just the trailers making out to be this nonsense action packed movie.

I blame studios expectations on this shit. They raise their expectations on what amount a movie should make they just pander to everyone to try and grab as much money as they can.
>>
>>63749087
Anyone who is a Star Trek fan isn't thinking they know science from the show, the "science" is mostly technobabble and pop-physics. The only difference is that trade negotiations on Star Trek are actually interesting
>>
>>63749231

Mostly about cucking and bestiality actually.

>“They had a script for Star Trek that wasn’t really working for them. I think the studio was worried that it might have been a little bit too Star Trek-y,” he said of the original draft.

>“Avengers Assemble, which is a pretty nerdy, comic-book, supposedly niche thing, made $1.5bn dollars. Star Trek: Into Darkness made half a billion, which is still brilliant.

>“But it means that, according to the studio, there’s still $1bn worth of box office that don’t go and see Star Trek. And they want to know why.”

>He added: “People don’t see it being a fun, brightly coloured, Saturday night entertainment like the Avengers,” adding that the solution was to “make a western or a thriller or a heist movie, then populate that with Star Trek characters so it’s more inclusive to an audience that might be a little bit reticent”.

1, 5 and 6 were either about philosophy or politics but none of the others were. 5 is probably the most philosophical and it's also the worst and 2 is probably the least philosophical or political and it's one of the best.

I'm inclined to believe he's probably right. There was so much talk from him and others about this movie being a bit more Star Trekky, and then they release THIS trailer? It's gotta be marketing manipulation more than anything. I really doubt it's representative of the whole film.

It is disappointing to see the Enterprise destroyed in what's probably the first act of the movie, though. I want spaceship porn god damn it.

Pegg says that but continues to work in the field of "nerd culture." He's an idiot, a hypocrite, or both.
