anyone else think this is getting loved too much?

feels like people are really overrating it due to the fact that its a "feminist" film - i mean i really enjoyed it, but its a straight forward action film and nothing else.

shitbait
>>
>>63737075
It WAS getting loved too much but not lately. and yeah all that feminist stuff was retarded
>>
Its crap. Itll be as forgotten as Crash. Remember that hype Oscar winner? Nobody does cos it was SJW bullshit. Max was the Avatar of road movies.
>>
there's nothing overrated about it. if anything, it underperformed at the box office and got a retarded backlash around here because of goobergators.

it deserved every bit of praise it got from professional critics. it's a solid action film with spectacular stunts and practical effects, and a nice streamlined plot involving a familiar face.
>>
i like it cuz of the practical effect and cinematography
>>
i don't get why people like it so much, it's alright but nothing really special

it's probably one of the best movies from 2015, but that really isn't saying much
>>
>>63737135

i've seen a bunch of lists where people have it as their #1 film of the year

i really enjoyed the film, but i just can't see how anyone can think it was the best film of the year.
>>
>>63737075

It earned enough feminism points to evade the usual criticism a flick like this usually would.
>>
it was alright
main problem was that tom hardy was forgettable and had no stage presence
>>
immortan joe did nothing wrong

fuck off tumblr
>>
>>63737135
>with spectacular stunts
They were ok, spectacular is pushing it
^That's also a good description of the movie
>>
>>63737187
this wasnt that great of a year for movies
>>
>>63737292

>main problem

Men are over represented in Hollywood as it is.
>>
certainly the best action movie of 2015
>>
>>63737075

It was forgettable like all the Mad Max films.

My love for practical effects and cinematography overrides my dislike for feminism in general. It was really very token feminism to begin with.

It seems to me like it would only be posers who wouldn't know that Hollywood movies have already had a long history of unrealistic female action heroes. Or that Mad Max isn't already a franchise with dominant female characters. It's too little too late to only bitch now.

>got a retarded backlash around here because of goobergators.

Liar. There was indeed butthurt for the few days before the release, but the day it was released, /tv/ began unanimously praising it.
>>
it's overrated, not because it's feminist but because it stands out with its practical effects and its original universe, people really wanted to love it based on the trailer. truth it the movie added nothing to the trailer, no plot, no characters, no dialogue. it's just visually great but people are rating the trailer, desu

How do you figure?
>>
>>63737135
this so much
>>
>George Miller shows all those postmodern brats how to make a big budget grindhouse, without fancy computer thingies
I'm OK with this.
>>
>>63737556

It was a 2 hour visual showcase and that by default makes it better than most action movies released in recent years. Hollywood still seems to think we care about forced romances and dummy exposition. Show more tell less, especially in a genre where the plot doesn't really matter that much.
>>
It is a feminist film in the proper sense of the word, but most dirty american SJWs are badgering it just as much as sweaty MRAs are.

Charlize no doubt had to face endless bigotry on her way to the top and she still has to carry a film bearing some dudes name. Even now people are denying its MOTY status because it would violate their Gamergate allegiance.

Its an utterly average movie which braindead fans are giving it A++++'s out the ass because they don't know better.

You know, the same fucking deal with 300 and everyone saying "ITS THE MOST AMAZING MOVIE EVER" and then forgetting about it 3 years later.

You still got two years to go.
>>
>>63737686
What the fuck are you on about you dinki-di
>>
>>63737732
But 300 was shit even at release. The only reason people paid any attention to it was the style of the movie, courtesy of resident moron Zack Snyder.

Oh look it's the patriarchy patrol right on time.
>>

SJWs actually got butthurt when the Vertigo tie-in comic revealed that Furiosa had to do bad things to get up to the point of driving the war rig, as if that wasn't already obvious by just the fact that she was trusted with the antagonist's most powerful vehicle.
